My friend and I have been trying to play UT over the internet, but can never do it. I am using the @home service and he is using Sympatico High speed. I would create the game, give him the Name of the game, but nothing seems to work. It always wants to go to LAN connection. Can someone help.

What do you mean by "the Name of the game"?

You have to give him your IP adress and then he has to connect to that IP by using "open location" from the "multiplayer" menu.

An other way is to tick the "advertise server" option in the server setup, so that the server appears in the list in the server browser and he can find it.

are u using patch 436?
try "open location" in the multiplayer menu
just type in your friends ip, and should work

I've gotten his IP, and tried open location, but because we are both on different LAN's (Roger & Sympatico) we can't connect for some reason.

LANs aren't the problem.. Hell, almost every internet UT server is guarenteed to be on a different provider then the players..
Is the IP of the serving machine visible to the internet?
