W2000-SBLive-troubles...

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. Everything works just fine using W2000 and UT (much, much better than W98/ME) except for one thing:
When I install the drivers for Soundblaster Live! Value some sounds in UT get very loud and others you can hardly hear at all...
If I don't install the drivers everything works fine, but I won't be able to use my four speakers...
Anyone knows how to solve this?

Come to think of it...

...I had a similar problem to you. After I had upgrade to Win 2k, my SoundBlaster worked normally. But after I installed the latest drivers, the sound that came out of the speakers were like buzzes. I solved it by switching the soundcard's PCI slot with another slot. Hope this might work for you...

Thanks, but that's not it. The sound works just fine all the time including UT, but the problem is that only some sounds are very loud, and others are not. For example - I can hardly hear myself firing the Flakcannon, but I hear the explosion very loud.
Besides, I just upgraded my system (mainboard, CPU) and the problem remains the same...
