anyone out there know of i can take advantage of two cpus with unrealed?

i'm using:
->MSI694d w/ promise ATA100
->(2)piii650s@866
->128MB mushkin 133MHz 2-2-2
->win2kpro

i'd really like to cut down the rendering time..

doesnt the computer share the workload on the 2 cpu's automatically?

Thats one beefy computer you got there.

it varies from program to program. q3a, for example, will only use both procs if r_smp is enabled. others like 3dsmax and photoshop will distribute the workload. i usually check by looking at cpu performance in task manager. unrealed only uses my 2nd cpu during rebuilds. of course the other one is free to process other threads while the first is crunching away.

the unreal engine and the editor currently only support 1 cpu. youre right in saying its application dependant, ie. the application needs explicit coding to take advantage of smp. but in addition you need to be running an smp-compliant OS, like NT or Win 2000, which im sure you know already.
