Can't query servers!! Help please.

Whenever I try to find a multiplayer game it tries to query the servers then times out. Sometimes the game crashes and I get a "history error". Single player works great just can't get online.

I'm running a gateway PII 400 64meg of ram, voodoo banshee, 56k winmodem.

I hate to be the one to tell ya MadJoe, but...the problem is most likely your winmodem. Winmodem suck *** for online gaming...though I have heard a few rare occassions where they did work. BUT, for the most part they suck. The difference between a winmodem and a true hardware based modem is that a winmodem actually uses a TON of system resources to run. A true hardware based modem, one that does NOT require windows to run, does all of the modulation/demodulation on the hardware itself.

I would recommend the Diamond USB SupraExpress 56k external modem. If you have USB that is. This modem is wonderful, and if you have a very low connection speed, it really makes something out of nothing.
