I have made a curving corridor bending in a ushape in the 2d editor. When i put the texture in even though i align it it looks crap. The bend in the wall is not smooth and shows up a series of small flat edges. Does anyone know how to get a smoother fhinish. thanks

you have to pan each texture to do that.

When you say you see a series of small flat edges do you mean you can detect the corner or that in the corners are extra edges that shouldnt be there?

If its the first then there isnt anything you can do but if its the second and the corridor is circular then you should crate a hollow cylinder the size you want and then move the half that you dont want outside of your main Subtracted brush and deintersect, you would now have a semicircular brush that you can move to the area you want the corridor and subtract it.

Its hard to know if that would work for your map without seeing it and if the corridor you want is not perfectly circular it wouldnt work.

Usually the key for areas like that is to use a simple texture to minumize the corners but its not really that important because nobody is going to say "Hey, great map but those corners in that corridor really suck" if the map is good and plays well, as long as there isn't any big mistakes, they wont be noticed.
