OK, this is my first attempt at running UnrealEd....

I have a tutorial that says:

Ok right click on the cube button and then you will see a menu pop up it with the cube's default size which is 256X256X256.

with http://www.ozunreal.com/tutorials/A_basicTutes/ed2/cube.gif as the cube button.

But I don't have a cube button! I have half a dozen or so blank buttons on the bottom of the left-hand column which I suspect one of which is supposed to be a cube button - if I right-click on it I get a CubeBuilder window, but with 0.0 instead of 256 as the values. If I attempt to "build" from that window I get a general protection fault.

What am I doing wrong here?

Thanks

 you got a borked editor by the sounds :(
Try a reinstall? If you install the ed separately, make sure its in the ut\system dir.

If you're using a patch anterior to 432,you have to launch ued in 1024*768 resolution or else half the buttons will be hidden.
If you're using the 432 patch ,just scroll the button window down until you find your window.
I highly recommend the 432 patch.

Yeah I think my install must be stuffed. I also have problems with the server browser on this machine. I'll try patching it, but if that doesn't work I'll be up for a re-install.

You might also tryand install Internet Exploder 5.0 (or higher) this fices some of the buggs in the editor.. i.e. empty actor classes and it also fixed the buttons in my editor...

so go on and try it!
