I've created a 'slick' area in map. When I attatch it to the rest of the level, it all becomes one big zone. Sliding down a stair case is stupid and a health hazard /~unreal/ubb/html/wink.gif. How do I keep the zones apart from each other?

With a Zone Portal brush. /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif
Select the sheet brush and place it between the two areas you want to seal off, the click the Add special brush icon (looks like a big green square). A coridoor is a good place to put a Zone portal. Make sure the sheet brush is bigger than the coridoor so it seals it off, completely. Then Rebuild. If you did it right, the 2 areas will have 2 different colors when you view them in the 3d window with Zone view enabled. (Pull back outside the map so you can see both areas at once.)
If there's more than one way into the slick area, then you'll need to add Zone portals at those entrances, too (this includes vetical shafts, too, if they join up with the rest of the map). You need to make the special area 'watertight' /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif
