You know, when you're starting up and you get the Win98 cloud thing screen? Is there anyway to get rid of it?

Load up tweakui and then uncheck "show splashscreen while loading"

Or, in the absence of TweakUI. Find your Msdos.sys, which is located in the root of your C:, open it up in notpad and under [Options] add the line
Logo=0

Easy

there's no real reason to get rid of it, it only appears while it's loading the autoexec.bat and whatever, if you hit esc while it's on it will go away, but it doesn't speed anything up, since your computer is still busy loading things.

The file for load up is c:\logo.sys
rename it to a bitmap.

It's a 256 colour 320x400 bitmap (it streches to 640x400 dynamically) weighing in at 127k.

Get another bitmap and resize it to 640x400 then play with it till it looks right.
Downsample to 256 colours (windows colour palette).
Resize to 320x400.
Rename the file back to logo.sys instead of logo.bmp
If you've done it right you'll have a different screen loading.

The same also applies to the "It is now safe to turn off your computer" and the "Windows is shutting down" screens.
These are stored in the windows directory as logos.sys and logow.sys.

Have fun :)

Or better yet, replace it with the UT logo splash screen.
