View Full Version : Hidden wall error

I try to make a hidden part of a pillar with four sheets. I select "masked wall" in the "add special" dialog after making a suitable sheet, and everything is fine. I align both the pillar and the sheet textures as a wall, and that looks good in the editor.

But in the game: The sheets are much brighter than the rest of the pillar! Inside is a damage amplifier, but that one doesn't produce light by itself, does it?

What could it be???

Help me, 'cause this map will rock!

First just make normal sheets, they don't need to be masked.

If it still doen't work...

Try making the sheets, and the pillar special lit.

Then what ever light sources are in the room duplicate, and make the duplicates special lights.


Make sense?

You can preview (depending on the video card) your map in 3D by right clicking on the 3D views menu bar and selecting hardware mode, instead of software mode.

add special brush, not a sheet,make it nonsolid only.Then add. Now, wallside facing inward right click texture.Go to PROPERTIES, 2sided,portal,invisible,and translucent should all be checked.Side facing outward, nothig gets checked. Rebuild!
This is for hiding that the wall is not solid.From inside your hideaway you can see out, THEY cant see in!
