Hi all....anyways, I have two questions.
1. I'll make this as clear as possible. When I'm doing one of my maps, I have a 512 x 512 texture. Whenver I try to go to a size something that can't be divided by 512 (e.x. like 640), the texture gets messed up, because it isn't aligned properly. Is there any way I can make it so it can be aligned properly? Or do I have to go into Paint Shop Pro again, and resize it?
2. This is a simple question.....how do you make curved surfaces? Cause I wanna do a hallways that is curved, but I'm not sure how to do that.....can someone point me in the direction of a tutorial or something? I went to UnrealED.exe and their tutorial was confusing....so if anyone can help me out...thanks!
Thanks!

you could stretch the textures, but itwould look distorted, you will probably have to resize it in PSP or photoshop or whatever
if you know how to use the 2d shape editor, curved hallways are easy, all you do is move the origin and hit the R button then you just enter the numbers you need

Well, lets try some simple math. 640/512= 1.25! Get the idea? Just rescale your texture to 1.25 instead of 1. This is the easiest and "right" way to do this.
Curved surfaces: you definitely have to use the 2d editor. Play around with it for an afternoon, and you'll find that it's very useful, even though it looks initmitading at first. IF you want, I can send you some arches that were made with it.

as far as the texture question goes, like collins said 512x1.25 will give you what you need. But if your wall is 640 high x 512 wide then you may want to do the custom scaling thing (I think that's what it's called). Anyway if you are using Ued 2 then you can:
apply your texture to the surface
select the texture (highlight it)
hit F5 to bring up surface properties
goto the "alignment" tab
then if you use simple scaling and put in 1.25 then the editor will stretch the texture 125% both vertically and horizontally.
but if your wall is 640 x 512 then you will want to use custom scaling which is right underneath simple scaling then put in 1.25 for vertical and 1.0 for horizontal.
then hit the apply button and pan the texture to align it
so on and so forth, you get the idea
aligning your textures is very important. If you want your level to look real nice and I'm sure you do then aligning textures makes all the difference, take the extra minutes to get them perfect.
As far as the curved hallways, yeah the 2d editor is the way to go. Make sure you get updated to at least the 428 or 430 patch because on the first versions of Ued2 the 2d editor was not finished. It did not have even the same features as the 2d editor in Ued1. So upgrade to at least 428 and you will be ok. Now for the tutorial. Use this link, I used this all the time when I was learning the editor, it is a database of lots of tutorials around the web so there are usually several tutorials by different authors on each subject. So if one confuses you, you will have a couple more you can check out.
