So-called "tweaks" ??

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. Is it just me, or what... on http://www.planetunreal.com, in the 'TWEAKS' section, a few people mention about how to help beat the 'lag monster'. One way is to go to Network/TCP-IP/Network play (or something like that) and change the maximum ticks to 1 and not 35...

WHERE IS THIS??? I've looked through UT's menus and pref's and can't find it.

Also - something about changing your modem settings to 1/10th of your modems baud rate... I can't find that option, either.

I usually ping around 300 or so on my dialup... and I can still almost hang with lpb's..... so either I'm good or I just get lucky by leading people... Maybe I should be a quarterback -lol

You find these settings in the so-called 'advanced options'. Hit ~ or Tab and type "preferences" and UT will go into windowed mode and the AO window will pop up.
Most of these settings can be found in the 'networking' section of the AOs. Sometimes it's a bit difficult to identify which variable is what. Look for "maxClientRate" and "maxServerTickRate".

BTW, from what I read and tested my self, tweaking those settings has minor influence. If your connection is shít, this won't fix it. ;)
