OK, so I was getting that wierd startup critical error in UEd, and couldn't figure it out. Tried everything. What I ended up doing was making a fresh install of UT to another directory. After installing both the 402 and 405b patches (UEd worked fine with both, BTW), I browsed through the system subdirectory really quick. I noticed that the unreal.ini file was the same size (11kb) as the unrealtournament.ini file. Found this odd, so I opened up the unreal.ini file. I was surprised to find that it was an EXACT copy of the unrealtournament.ini file. So, what did I do? I simply made a copy of my unrealtournament.ini in my original install, and renamed it to unreal.ini. And you know what? It works. It abso-friggin-lutely works. I think this solves the problem. It did for me at least. UEd works fine for me now, 405b and all. Give it a try. Just make the unreal.ini identical to the unrealtournament.ini. Post any problems here.
