I've tried to install the Unreal editor for UT and I kep getting the same result and it's driving me crazy. I can't seem to find any helpful links nor have I seen this problem adressed in any set of FAQ on any UT site. Here's what happens:

1)I install the UT extras from the 2nd disc of my UT game.
2)I open the UT folder.
3)I open the UnrealEd folder.
4)I click on UnrealEdInstaller.exe.
This is where it goes wrong every time. The program begins copying initialization files and I get the error message:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\riched32.dll
Abort Retry Ignore
Choosing Retry does nothing so I coose Ignore. The Unreal Editor Setup program starts and I click the begin setup button. It then tells me that the setup was completed successfully. Next when I go to open the editor I open the Unreal folder that is created, open the system folder and click on the UnrealEd.exe icon. I then receive the error message:

Run-time error'48'
File not Found Editor.dll.

I've tried this at least 5 times first deleting the Unreal folder that is created and starting from the begining but the result is the same each time. I installed the 428 patch today and tried it again but the result was the same. Does anyone know how to fix this?

If you installed the 428 patch it contains the the new editor, UED2. Just go into your UnrealTournament\System folder and double click on Unrealed.exe file.

I never used the second disk, when I installed the 420 patch it was there. 428 should have it also, with the latest fixes.

I tried that and I am still getting the same result. I installed the 428 patch and tried to install the editor from there. It doesn't matter whether I use the second disc or the patch I still get the same error message every time. I'm still waiting for tech support to get back to me, maybe they will be able to help.

This might help, install the latest Visual Basic Runtime files.

OK, I finally got the editor to work. I misread Blaze-22's advice. I was actually trying to open the Editor version 1 which was causing the problem. I was clicking on the UnrealEd.exe icon which was a large grey letter "U". When I opened the UnrealTournament\System folder and clicked on the UnrealEd.exe icon which showed the green Unreal Tournament logo U it opened the 2.0 version of the editor. I also found that when I put the second disc in the drive and right clicked on it and chose explore the first version of the editor would open that way. Thanks for everyone's advice.
