Anyone have a link to UnrealEd help files, or at least to a good newbie-oriented tutorial?
On a side note, as a quick question to get me started, how do I re-arrange the verticies of or move the cube or other such shape I place after I place it but before I carve it?

select the red brush by leftclicking on it, then you can drag it around while holding down the left mouse button. if you hold shift while doing this you can rotate it on one of the three axes depending on which window you're in.
'carve' by clicking subtract brush from world
zoom: left click on an empty space on the grid then hold both mouse buttons and drag.
lights: right click (in the 3d view) on a surface then select addlighthere
player start: in the 'menu' on the right select classes->navigation point->player start point. once it is highlighted you can add it next to a surface the same way you did the light.
rebuild/compile: hit f8 and press rebuild geometry
once you subtract out a room, add a light and a player start, rebuild and then press ctrl p and you'll be able to see your first unrealed map in action.
you can add many things to your map the same way you added the player start.
as for newbie tutorials, check out unrealed.net
i don't know much about vertex manipulation with unrealed other than the fact that it used to be very buggy.
