Hello everyone,

alright so a little about me. i am currently a student and im pursueing a degree in game design.
now what interests me most is character modeling.
then today my teacher made it very clear that its hard to get a job in the industry as a character artist.
hence i realised that its a good idea to explore other fields as fall backs.
then someone suggested learning to use the UDK and or UE3?
but then that raised a few questions like
can i import my models and textures from Maya and Mudbox EASILY?
and things around that.

now if anyone knows of any good websites that teach UDK that would be fantastic

and thank you for your time.

Well, your best bet would be to get a fallback degree in something outside the video game industry, but my opinion on game design schools is something for another thread.

All the documentation you need is at the UDN, Epic's official site for engine documentation:
http://udn.epicgames.com/Three/DevelopmentKitHome.html

Specifically the Content Creation subsection:
http://udn.epicgames.com/Three/UDKContentCreationHome.html

About halfway down the page is the section for animation and skeletal meshes.

It's concept art for the commercial version of Prometheus. ;)
