Direct 2 Drive is running an indie sale and one of the featured games is The Ball, which is going for a mere $4.95. The game does use Steamworks and you can register the key through Steam to take advantage of the leaderboards and achievements. People on the steam forums are refusing to buy it because it won't unlock the ball character for killing floor. Is this what we have become, that we only purchase a game to get a skin or hat, and not on the quality of gameplay and fun that games are supposed to be about?

It has more likely become a Boycott thing with PC gamers. They want to show their disagreement, eventually they will buy or *obtain* the game anyway.

At $5 I don't see how you can't pick this one up.
Actually bought it around Thanksgiving for $10, a little miffed about that (I didn't think they'd put the same thing on sale again so soon) but oh well. Fun little game and I've probably got more fun just out of the contests they've been running than some actual games I've bought.

(BTW: Please release the answers for the mystery monday.)
