UE3 - UT3 How to make grass sprites always facing the player

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Well everything is in the title, I know how to make a full 3d model of a grass patch but I want to create a very low poly version of that grass patch (a sprite) : when you are at a certain distance of the static mesh it turns into a sprite.

yea thats the thing I've been trying to figure, but seems like no one knows lol...

The only way might be using speedtree, might be complicated to add some custom trees to the speedtree library.
Speedtrees have the option to turn them selves into a billboard at a certain distance.
