Shacknews has an early glimpse of zombie's new Unreal Engine 3 title Blacklight. The game is a squad based military shooter set in the near future. Here is a short blurb from the shacknews article about the gameplay:

he "science fact" future of Blacklight includes a multi-spectrum "turtle helmet," which players can engage to see opponents through walls and share that data with other team mates. However, that mechanic is not without its drawbacks.

As Long puts it, there's a rock-paper-scissors dynamic at work. Should an opponent engage camouflage and stay still, they'll be invisible to the visor, but not plain sight. Furthermore, enemies can throw up a decoy only visible on the infrared spectrum.

In addition to this, Fox apparently has movie plans for the franchise.

The studio has signed on for some movie action based on Zombie Studios' "Blacklight" game, a military action title set 25 years in the future. The film will be written by Jason Dean Hall, whose credits include the upcoming Ashton Kutcher flick, "Spread".

The concept art looks TECHNICALLY ok but lacks inspiration. It's just another psot-apocalyptic shooter.

Gears of Kill Zone?
Yahtzee is that you? ;P

I can remember that after Halo, every game that came out and featured semi-futuristic characters wearing a helmet, the first thing you'd hear was "0mgz Halo clone!11!"

Yes. Technically every helmet wearing space marine game is a rip off of Doom. ;/ People want something new, but they keep buying the same thing over and over, so its hard for the market to evolve.
