They have a Gears of War1 1v1 contest set up where I go buy it on midnight launch (32 Players on set). Apparently last year they set up Halo 3 1v1's with Sword only on final round. Which is BIG Fail.

I just hope they won't do this for Gears with the chainsaw. You'd be better at flipping a coin. Winner takes the LE free. I hope to get it free, would save me some money for more games.

You know, some **** ass rules where you have a arsenal of weapons on you, but you can only use the bayonet on a powerful assault rifle. I just want to see the guy rush at me with the chainsaw, hit him with one lancer bullet, get knocked, and in 2 pieces even before he saw it coming.

What I'm going to do in the first rounds is to pistol whore it down. If we play canal 1v1 I'll just active him out with the sniper. I doubt to lose it, but if they bring in some lame ass rules I most certainly will.

risk modding? i know plenty of people with modded xboxs that pirate all of their games and play on xbox live without being banned and have been doing it for over a year. theres no way for microsoft to detect the current mods people are making to their 360s.

So I'll do a formal write up on my blog later today, right now, I barely made it in to work on time with blooshot eyes! was up till 5am playing the game!

Simple answer it's ****ing awesome all ya haters are missing out! Just played MP last night the levels are beautiful and some of them really crazy like Avalanche and Hail. Horde ****ing owns, bots are great for practice when everyone one else on live goes to sleep (sissies)

The soundtrack in this game is definitely more awesome than in Gears 1 without being so different as to make it seem entirely new. Jablonsky did a good job.

I agree this game is awesome. I played both MP and SP last night. Only played a few MP levels. Jacinto was a lot of fun. And taking out brumaks with a troika on those giant moving paltforms was also fun. So far seems to be a lot more cinematics in this one.

Also have blood shot eyes, but only stayed up till 3. I know, im a sissy.

Actually, Gears 1 had the disc error problem as well, due to all the streaming that has to be done to run the damn game and the 360's crappy dvd drive can't keep up. When the "New Xbox Experience" rolls out I'll install the game to the HDD so it doesn't have to constantly read from the disc (though you will have to have it in the drive for verification).

But what's even worser is how this ****ing game plays online.

Since they've nerfed the shotgun a LOT it's much easier to just have a bunch of idiots running with the chainsaw around. Horde is tight though, I really liked it online. It's pretty much the only thing I really enjoyed from this game so far. Definitively a keeper just for Horde.

The bots are abysmal. Rather than having an actual AI coder with brain, they had one who compensated Shoulder aiming by hip fire aiming. They look like a bunch of robots filled with hax and they're extremely dumb.

Pretty much that "Higher accuracy for higher difficulty" kind of concept all over again.

While horde is fun too, I found most of the players just camping spots where the Longshot/Torque always respawn. The last game I played we made it to wave 1 up to 26. I was literally pissed off by the efficiency of my team. I had over 196 kills while the nearest player on the board had something like 84, I was also the player with the most revivals. And also the only player who actually walked around in River cleaning up the mess rather than trying too hard to hit things with the Torque bow in a tower like a ****ty coward who can't even get a single revive point.

Give me a break. I also hate how this game doesn't allow you to quit a match, you are forced to leave via the dashboard. :lol:

I definitely have a physical scratch on my disc. Going to take it back to GameStop for a replacement.

And I do like Hoard. It's actually the only MP I have played so far. I camp in hoard until in the later rounds until there's just a handful or baddies left or a teammate is bleeding out somewhere.

i hate camping :) but then, i'm not playing online because i don't have a gold account (already used the free 48 hours that came with the game) and whether or not i can be consideres 'good'... well, the last couple of times i played gow 1 on xbl i got a nice number of kills, yeah, but it's still nowhere near what i can do with kb/m.
but i do like the bots in annex (not sure about the other modes, haven't really tried them yet). horde bots actually act as stupid as the butcher locust sound. but it's fun to play.

in general i have to say i love this game. imo it's way better than the first in both sp and mp (though i haven't tried it online, see above) and some of the environments are simply breathtakingly beautiful.
one thing i don't like is the amount of blood. i have no problems with violent games but i think in this case a little less would have been better. just take those three hearts for example... :rolleyes:

but it's still safe to say that i'll be playing the sp mode again a couple of times if only to marvel at those environments. i was kind of hoping it might be possible to just walk around the mp maps btw. i like to look at stuff.

to me, some missions actually felt like i was watching a movie rather than playing a game. and i'm still wondering if those cut scenes are really all made using kismet/matinee.

so all in all i think epic did a really great job :)

edit: and that toaster easter egg is awesome, too :lol:
