Hey Fella's! The final of my latest map is now released. This is a very small map with an origional theme. I wouldnt reccomend more than 8 players and works best with 2v2! If you like tiny frantic matches then this is for you! Enjoy!

Well, it's a shame that it's so small (it's basically a Z configuration that can be traversed in 3 tosses of the translocator beacon). I'd call it a notch above CTF-Joust in terms of layout. At least there is some z-axis play.

The theme is absolutely gorgeous and the lighting is great too. I really wish you'd have made this about three times larger with three routes in/out of the flag room so that a larger player count could be supported.

Yeah I have had alot of people comment on the small size so I will probably make a larger map with the same theme.

Im glad you like the theme and lighting and at the moment i still want to work on this map so I will probably start a larger version soon :D

Played it... I wasn't that impressed by this map.

Firstly, current layout isn't that good. Reason 1 - one way towards the flag. That hallway that you have is a simple trap, especially when played with 4 or more players. It becomes rather messy if a player decides to camp^( using flak cannon ). Team won't even have any chance of capturing the flag. Reason 2 - 2 ways in and out of the base. RAther tight ones I must say. Might result in Flak/Shocky Spammage = not desirable.

Secondly... visuals. Fact 1 - is it just me or I am seeing cubes everywhere? Yes I am. Geometry needs to be smoother. Fact 2 - looking at the first piccie that you posted, those platforms on a wall with some health vials simply look crappy. Period. And I tell why - it doesn't relate to the rest of architecture, the thing that you want to avoid. You could fix that by adding some trims around, they tend to make archi flow a little bit nicer.

Btw nice to see that this map is made out of BSP.

I have had alot of people say they werent impressed with the layout but so far I think you are the first to say you dont like the visuals.

The layout tbh was designed to be rather spammy and manic. Hence the tight corridors and generally tiny map. This map wasnt designed to give people an amazing and complex game.

Lots of people enjoy a simple fragfest. If they find it fun then why not. However, please do not let this map put you off any future works I may decide to release. I realise such a small map with such a simple layout is not to everyones taste and I have no intention to continue making such teency weency maps. You can expect my next one to be much more complex.

Im sorry this wasn't to your taste. Personally I find spammy gameplay much more addictive than "technically" brilliant maps

and oh yeah, BSP is the way to go :D

a nice small CTF with decent lighting and bright (too bright? not really sure), it’s tight with slim opportunities for z-axis and it looks good. LTC needs to be included in the ini file, so it will also appear in the map menu though. I like the outdoor scene, animal sounds, music choice and flak cannon location. The skybox needs some more work, there maybe could have been an upper path to flag, and where is that clicking sound supposed to be coming from? The bots are not bad and mine can defend even without being told. This would be a good map for small CTF servers.
