Just saw this (http://www.steampowered.com/v/index.php?area=sub&SubId=440) over at kotaku.... it's all of id's games for $35. I know we're against advertising but I can't help but want to share the wealth. Now I have to find some way of clearing about 50 gig of space off a 40 gig hard drive. :p

that's what I was thinking too, although seeing how I have to pay for steam a regular bank account should confirm that I am over the age of 18(or have reached majority :D ) and as such there's no reason for steam to not offer this id package here.

Steam. Fail. If they'd send me the CD's and stuff, fine, or if it could be downloaded without Steam (like, just the zip files etc. then yeah.)

On top of the whole licensing issues that vary from country to country, you live in the land of banned games that requires an alternate version of RTCW.

I'd require a version of RTCW with no content at all in the name of good taste ;)

I already own QII and RtCW, but it's still a screaming deal. I needed an excuse to buy the retail versions of Doom 3 and Quake 3 and this is as good as any.

Commander Keen. Worth the $35 alone. ;)

That's what I like about steam. You don't have to keep track of your cd's or files. No fuss with digging up the latest patches, multi-disc installs, losing the cd-key, or whatever. You just delete them and download again at your own leisure. Don't even have to bring anything if you want to install the games on another computer or something. All you need is the login.

I've never had any problems with it. It's faster and cheaper than buying from the store, and I don't see the big deal with having to have steam running when playing the games.

I already owned probably half of the games in this pack, but still picked it up so I can throw away their cd's. They hardly worked anyway.

And when their servers die, I'd still have the CD's. Sorry, I prefer the physical media, and if I can't have it, I don't care how much of a deal it is, I'm not interested.

BTW you can back it up onto DVD. I mean, supposing that the $.35 for the disk isn't too much...
