Okay, bear with me. I don't think in eight years I have advertised anything, and I wouldn't normally... BUT I do know that people, myself included, have asked before. "How do I password a file/folder instead of the entire computer?" So personally I wouldn't call it advertising, just finally providing an answer to a question people have asked.

This is how.

You apparently just plug it in, encrypt whatever you want, and pull it out. It locks the files with 256 bit AES encryption. In short, they're totally useless until decrypted and most likely not being hacked.

Best part is it's not limited to your hard drive, you can encrypt SD cards, thumb drives, even CD's and DVD's.

And the encrypted files also apparently become "tuned" to your specific GoldKey, so you better not lose it.

So there you go, you can lock down your porn collection and stuff now. :p

Thats a pretty nifty gadget.

There is a free software solution called TrueCrypt (http://www.truecrypt.org/) that works in a similar way, but doesn't use a hardware key.

You know, I wonder if that's the kind of thing GoldKey uses...
