On the other hand, Woodward acknowledged the success of Bush’s surge of additional troops into Iraq in 2007.
"Violence was down so much in a few places that some U.S. soldiers were not receiving combat action badges because there was no fighting in their area," he wrote.
And this:

The book says the so-called surge of nearly 30,000 additional U.S. combat forces and support troops to Iraq was not the primary factor behind the steep drop in violence there during the past 16 months. Rather, new covert techniques helped locate and kill insurgent leaders and key members of extremist groups such as al-Qaida in Iraq.
The Bush administration spied extensively on Iraq's Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, others at the top of the Iraqi government, according to the book.

Its probably both. More troops means you can cover more ground so it helped as well. I don't see how it is not a primary factor though. If you have only 1 guy in Iraq there is no way it'll help curb violence even if you know where every single terrorist is. If you have 30,000 then you can definitely do more.

lol at the "so called surge" line. A surge is a surge. Increase of troops. "So called" would mean that there were no additional troops and only media stories of an increase of troops or something to that effect.
It is also very funny how Barack Obama even when confronted in an interview, still dodges the question of whether he was wrong when he opposed the idea of a surge in Iraq. He dodged it and said "but but but the Iraqi's need to be more responsible" or something to that effect. Why can't you guys admit he's a f*cking amateur. His resume proves it. Do you guys even know what a Community Organizer is? It's a freakin vote solicitor.

You can't reason with someone like that...
Abe Lincoln was a f*cking amateur, too. So was Kennedy.
If Archer is gonna' spend all this effort bashing community organizing, why don't you get real? That's just some crap he did for a few years right after college, one of his first jobs. A guy's gotta start somewhere doesn't he?

haha, Iron Archer always reminds me of my brother back when he was downing steroids. Somehow, the more offensive IA becomes the more I have to laugh.

Yeah but they did it wrong. Any droid army that comes equipped with cute, dimwit vocal programs deserves to fail.
