Just got back from this, and it is AMAZING. A real masterpiece in acting and direction. I wasn't planning on seeing it this weekend, but had some free time and able to get some reserved seats at the theatre so we went. I'm glad we did! I highly recommend this one.

Probably going to see it Tuesday. There's also Hancock and HellBoy II I'd wish to see.

Getting ready to go see it right now at the new movie theater in Burleson.
Wanted to go to the IMAX version, since it's the first movie to be fillmed with IMAX equipment, but it's an hour and a half away. Maybe next weekend.
THE DARK KNIGHT: THE IMAX EXPERIENCE, from Warner Bros. Pictures, will feature four sequences filmed with IMAX® cameras. This marks the first time ever that a major feature film has been even partially shot using IMAX cameras, marking a revolutionary integration of the two film formats.

I saw if Friday night. I have to say, Heath Ledger should definitely be up for an Oscar. To be honest, if I did not already know it was Heath, save for one fleeting moment in the movie, I never would have guessed it.
Batman, as The Dark Knight, is not so much a hero as he becomes more of the anti-hero in many respects.
The overall theme and feel of the movie makes it what it is; a cinematic masterpiece. Although there are plenty of plotholes, the storyline works very well. Seriously, plotholes are necessary for moviemaking, unless you are making a documentary.
I really liked this movie over BB, and until now, I thought BB was the only real Batman movie. This movie takes us into the world of the Dark Knight and tells the story very well. I suppose the fate of some characters is written on the walls lining the box office, but the road to getting there is paved with some of the best sights and sounds ever to put on the big screen.
Even if you don't care much for superheroes or action movies, this is a must see movie.

^ Crotale, what plotholes? I heard some people complaining about how he drove away in the bus unnoticed or why didn't the cop convoy transferring Harvey Dent go to the other side of the street and things like that but I didn't really see any actual contradictions.

I wouldn't really say there were plot holes so much as weak points in the story line. See my post in the other thread.

Even if the only IMAX requires a 50 dollar ticket and is 3 hours away it is absolutely worth seeing in IMAX if you have the option to do so over regular cinema. I can attest for that much.

The only plotlines I thought were weak were ones that seemed to be forced on the movie to keep in line with the comic books.

Of course, had it not happened, we would not have seen the disappearing pencil trick and the rest of the movie.
This just in. I found it in a thread on IMDB. Priceless humor, to say the least...
Batman was unwilling to appease the terrorists-- just like Bush.
Batman was accused of wiretapping-- just like Bush
Batman invaded another country illegally-- just like Bush is accused of doing.
Batman was accused of causing more violence by waging war on the terrorists-- just like Bush.
The citizens of Gotham turned on their protector-- just like Americans did to Bush.
Batman was willing to endure hatred of Gotham's citizens to do what he believed is right-- just like Bush.
Batman is now hunted for his "crimes"-- just like Dems want to impeach Bush for his "crimes."

I agree with Sir_Brizz,
Batman : Dark Knight was and will stay an incredible master piece for his Overall success and totally shows what Batman really is.
The Joker is really a role played at another level, Heath was crazy.
