Which one is the Epic rep?

Watching Sony's presentation was like "We sold so many PS one's and two's... so we clearly own"

Nintendo's presentation (http://www.gamespot.com/video/933195/6193950/e3-2008-nintendo-press-conference) just made me want to churn. Wasn't sure if I was watching a press conference meant to show me new games or a MADD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mothers_Against_Drunk_Driving) presentation. I was expecting Barney to pop up any second... and it felt like it was a pre-school assembly.
That Nintendo rep... I haven't felt like slapping someone I don't know, in a long time. That sentiment has been rectified.

btw. who's that meant to be in the last frame of the PA strip?
Could fit to Nintendo, but they had this god-awful female presenter. Is that meant to be a Duke Nukem Dev?

(Epic's rep. was Cliffy B Clifford Blezensiskerseskerzy this year)

From left to right, it's Don Mattrick from MS, Reggie Fils-Aime (sp) from Nintendo, and that one guy from Sony.

I liked what sony had to show. They told us more about games that are coming out some time soon, not ones that we won't see for 3 years.

To me the middle guy looks more like Jack Tretton, than the one on the right. :p (I know it isn't, just saying...)

Sony hardly showed anything. Most of the games looked like crap, to be honest (or were just boring rehashes). Almost their entire press conference was about the PS3 Home and XMB and PSN and the Playstation Store and how it all integrated with the PSP. They didn't even mention anything like Final Fantasy.

Nintendo hardly showed anything. Most of the games looked like crap, to be honest (or were just boring rehashes) and required you to be under the age of 3 to enjoy.
fixed ;P

From the big ones
MS conference > Sony (win for using LBP in the actual presentation) :-) > Nintendo (I'll get flack for this - but they just seem to be dummyfying gaming*)

Altogether I think EA had the strongest showing with a ton of fresh IP's

* For example Wii music looks like it's for toddlers - you don't even have to be in rythm... just spaz about a little.

Nintendo's Press Conference at least didn't seem frantic/panicky to me.

Sony definitely had the worst showing. Nothing interesting with their games, nothing interesting with their dashboard stuff, nothing interesting coming soon or in the works. It was entirely lame.

Nintendo at least has a few casual games that look moderately interesting. But the PA panel is correct in saying "here's a bunch of crap you don't care about" because they could have announced it all on a web page and it would have had the same effect and been cheaper for them.

But frankly, they were all awful. This is one of the dullest E3s I can remember.

To me the most infuriating thing was Nintendo and the gyroscope add on for the Wii

They have created a $30 peripheral that only the hardcore are going to buy to add functionality that should have been on the Wiimote in the first damned place. It's really cool and all that it brings a 1:1 representation of movement to the screen, but what games are taking advantage of this? Is starwars? Nope. Did they announce Bushido Blade Wii (which, by the way would make me cry with joy)? Of course not. You can play a crappy resort game.

I mean, it's ridiculous enough that Wii motes must be bought in two seperate parts (wiimote + nunchuck) but now you ALSO have to buy additional calibration dongles? That's $90 per controller! So they give us what we wanted (and what they had pretty much promised when talking about the whole revolution crap), only it's at ANOTHER additional cost, it has no good games announced for it, games have to SPECIFICALLY make use of it, meaning there will be essentially no support. I could go on.

Oh, and they also showed Animal crossing that looks exactly the same as Animal Crossing for Gamecube and for DS.

So what I mean to say is: I think all of the conferences were pretty much meh, but Nintendo has succeeded once again in telling gamers to **** off because they don't really give a crap about them when cheap "cute" games are selling like hotcakes.

Honestly, watch the Wii presentation (http://www.gamespot.com/video/933195/6193950/e3-2008-nintendo-press-conference).
Props if you can a: watch it all. b: not vomit. c: don't feel like mutilating the presenter with a rubber spoon.

I dare you

Sony's still bragging about stuff they showed last E3 and have yet to deliver. Does anyone even give a rat's ass about Playstation Home anymore? At least Nintendo made sure their stuff was, you know, new.

Frankly, the Wii Music bit wasn't that much worse than You're in the Movies. It seems like someone somewhere got the idea in their heads that people want to look like huge f*cking dorks in front of their closest friends.

dragonfliet: Where'd you hear the cost of the peripheral? I've been trying to track it down, but all I can find is that Wii Sports Resort is 50 bucks. As for the rest of your comments... eh, I'll wait for other games to announce support before passing judgment. Some minigames in Resort looks fun, but if the first Wii Sports and Wii Play are any indication, Nintendo's probably not counting on Resort alone to sell their peripheral.

Nintendo is proving again and again that anyone will buy a bunch of crap peripherals for their console even though hardly any games use them at all :)

I find it aggravating, and agree that the MotionPlus thing should have been in originally, but they've probably made advances in motion control in the last two years, frankly.

I for sure won't be bying all new controllers, though. What's that crap all about. They should offer an exchange program or something ffs.

well my dance pad is a peripheral for my PC and I use it for 1 game only : stepmania.
I'm not even considering that it was a waste of money though. :)

It's not even out, but we can be sure that Wii Sports Resort will sell like crazy.
