This is my deepest-in-details, breathing level ever made in my entire mapping career. I hope you like it, this level also have a in-game tutorial like the previous versions, and every playable CoG characters, in addition of the new teammate option (2 teammates total)

Warning: I highly recomend that you open it via the console - checkpoints work that way too so you don't have to trough the menu every time, plus, the game keeps a history of your console commands.

To do this, open the console with "`", then type: open sp_sabek-beta1

Kantham you are really doing great with the Gears level designs.

Now that CBP 3 is done (for now) I am going to back in to Gears mapping and finish off my single player level.

Mozi just one thing you should really think about those blocking volumes, as I found out you were a bit "paranoid" in the CBP3, specially with IronMaiden. Also there is one spot in your map which leaves me speechless, because everywhere but there there is a blocking volume. But I like your map nonetheless.

/Offtopic

I don't have Gears for PC so I just look at the screenshots.

While the first four and the last one look really nice, the fifth screenshot (Inside some sort of jewelry or something) leaves me with some remarks.
First, it looks like the room is not as decorated as the rest of the map. Maybe I'm wrong but it just feels "empty".
Second, if these are really glass displays you should add some kind of chrome around the edges. First it would ease off the aliasing thanks to bloom, and it would look much better too :)
Third: The texture alignment on the ceiling seems weird, the "short" part seems more compressed than the "long" part. You can tell by the size of the little "lumps" on the texture which are bigger on the long part than on the short part. Try to make them the same size ;)

That is all.

Is Gears PC playable on XP?

why not? i'm playing it on xp 32 bit (c2d 6750, 8800 gts 320, 2gb ddr2) and it runs like a charm on max details @1280x1024. but just like UT3 i wasn't able to get it to run with any later version of the gfx driver than 169.28.

Wow i've spotted this late.

Just played one or two waves and seriously love the layout. The rain is a bit annoying imo but that isn't saying much, i never have liked rain, plus i can see how it adds substantially to the theme. The ladder's (And especially that watch tower esque part) are a nice change from the fairly linear style to gears and they give the player a nice advantage, without it being unbalanced.

Visually there isn't much to pick fault with. The glass display cases in one of the buildings just look completely wrong in my oppinion, perhaps a trim to the glass would be nice? Also the fence towards to top half of the map with practically nothing behind it looks a bit wierd too, escpecially seeing as you can see through its gaps. I picture the map as part of fairly large urban area and seeing it go to nothing behind that fence sorta spoils it a bit, perhaps its just me though? I may have just missed something behind it though :P

The spawn layout is well balenced imo and the extra team-mate suits the scale of the level. I tried it with one team-mate though and to be honest it wasn't harder as such it just took longer to find enemies, just a small observation.

Didn't see any of the blue flashing lines denoting spawns mind, are you planning on adding them as you did in red alert?

Bit of an essay, but still keep it up kanth, loving your work

Yeah the blue flashing lines are supposed to be there. I'll add a trim on those windows and do some other things like adding cover in some places, and try to optimize the rain a bit.

Anyone else gets lower than 60 FPS? I notice some slow downs.

Yeah much, maybe the tex could be a tad darker though?

Oh and if it helps, I run GoW Maxed at 1920x1280 (With tripple buffering) and had 50fps or higher throughout.

The level is entirely optimized now (for final). The cause was the rain, the material had some sort of fixed-to-camera-angle reflection over on diffuse, making all this nicer cut & shinier look, multiply that with the fact that the material is already set to transparent, it gets really complex for the engine to render all this. I removed that reflexion, still looks great, and overall the frame rates are like they should be. I had no slow downs.

I'll see what I can do with the trim texture, making it darker made it look useless, and unless you have AA enabled, it pretty much look like ass. I'm not really happy with the trim personally.

Keep up the feedback please.

Yes it's better, but like J112, the texture could be a bit darker ;)
