It has been released!

Our current only download locations (more soon!) : http://files.filefront.com/theball+v1zip/;10799463;/fileinfo.html

Information regarding this mod can be found in our little FAQ: http://forums.beyondunreal.com/showthread.php?t=178354

The Ball: Pehua is a first person singleplayer puzzle mod with an Aztec theme to it. The mod takes place in a mysterious Aztec temple which has only been discovered recently, at the top of a volcano. The player has to use the Impact Gun to move a large steel ball around and utilize that ball to solve puzzles and get around obstacles. Impact Gun aside, the mod uses all new custom art to establish a unique, stylish, and atmospheric experience.

The mod is currently pretty small, with only one level, and there a few features, like enemies, missing. We plan to dramatically expand it for phase 2 if the mod is received well.

i couldnt do it on time! omg
when the announcer gave the "5 min remain" i entered panic mode and then failed.

and btw, getting the "blocky boxes" to trigger the yellow buttons in on of the latest part, was frustrating like you have no idea

Other than that, i think is really unique and perfect, lovely colors and ambience, nice organic feeling and everything

damn

I think you want to turn the time limit off before starting the map?

The mod was very nice, the only thing that felt a bit ankward was the huge fall near the end. There should have been something like a water puddle in my opinion.

Can't wait for the second part :)

Yes you should prefferably set the time to 0 when you start, but its not essential. The game never ends. The announcer may announce 5 more minutes, but it wont actually end so nothing to stress about at all.

Theres little indication that the boxes must got into the holes yes, but its also the only possible solution you have there, as the yellow button indicates that its not a player button, but the ball doesnt fit the hole so ...
We will prolly make it a bit more clear later on.

What I'm supposed to do at the lava lake?

Anyway, I'm really loving this, especially the atmosphere

This is awesome! But wth do you do with the symbol in the floor. I rotated it about a million times and put the ball on the yellow elevator (I think that's what it is) switch :(

Edit: I can't get the switch to show up in this pic: http://phalanx.planetunreal.gamespy.com/hourences/theballmod7.jpg

No no, that symbol can also be found several times in all other rooms, it is not a button but simply an arrow. You cant do anything with it, it occasionally rotates itself to point to a new objective, but that's all it does.

Solution

You just have to roll the ball up the ramp, and then let it go so it rolls down the ramp and hits the button at the lower end of the ramp within a few seconds.

Buttons always look the same.

Lava lake solution

there is a button against the the right wall, more or less at the height the lava is at. You need to roll the ball into the lava and have it try and hit the button. If you do so, a walkway will raise and you can continue to the other side. There is a new button inside that will open more doors. Your ball will be intentionally stuck in the lava pool at that point, so you need to have it take a detour to get it out of the lava again.
