Using Unreal Ed for UT 2004. I'm trying to put together a map. What is the best way to put together a map for each individual level? Is there a way using the top view you can just see one level at a time?

By "level" in the last sentence you don't mean "level" as in "stage" or in "let me du just one more level" but as in "the first floor is at the same level as the ground", right?
If so, no. That's not possible. You have to use a combination of the four viewports to get to see what you want to see.

If not, then please explain it again because I don't quite get what you want to be honest.

That is what I needed. Thank you!

Not so fast... There is actually a little trick that can help. For example, if you're building a skyscraper and you've got 5 stories of level mapped right on top of each other, it'll be kinda hard to work on the 1st floor if the other 4 are finished because you'll have 4 stories of other meshes and BSP in the way that you keep accidentally selecting through the top view-port.

Bascially, if you've got multiple floors stacked on top of each other, this handy trick can make editing a little easier. Use the "Marquee Selection" (i.e. press and hold Crtl and Alt while dragging with the left-mouse) to select the entire completed floor and all the meshes and BSP that are "in your way". Once they're all selected, go over to left tool bar and press the "Hide Selected Actors" button. It should look like a closed eye on a red box. Everything you had selected should vanish from your viewports (but they're not really gone, just hidden). After you're done working on the floor, you can pop back in all the hidden stuff by pressing the Show All Actors button which looks like that same eye except open and sitting on an X.

This trick saved me a lot of frustration :D.

Thanks a lot! I'll try that and see how it works!

Good tip _N_,
I just found out how the original map releases can't be edited.
Because some of them hidden most of the brushes lol.
But yeah, Thats the way it should work.

You can also type anything in the line of "Group" of the actors you whish to hide. For example "FirstFloor", "SecondFloor" etc. In the group browser you can then check which groups you want to see and which you want to be hidden.

Might be even more comfortable.
