Isn't just NIN on the EP, either.

I coworker just walked by and asked, "Heineken commercial?"

He does have a point.

I just got around to downloading "The Slip" recently. I wonder if this is an indication we could be in for a NIN live album?

I'm actually wondering what sort of motivation Trent has towards the industry regarding live video material.

Drum programming must be a dead art along with modern drum machines. :/
At least on band sounds like they have a real drummer.

damn, that hurts.
isn't there a nin album with good things in the same tone as "just like you imagined" or "the hand that feeds" ?

Year Zero and The Slip feel like an entire album themed around "Into The Void", to me, which I enjoyed. I would kill for a return to the earlier style, but without the drug abuse, it may not happen :) Ghosts I-IV was good, too, but I want a whole album with a theme like The Downward Spiral.

Does it Offend You, Yeah? and Crystal Castles will be opening for NIN? o_O
Not that I would mind, but the combination of those bands + NIN is a bit.. odd.

Ironic how The Downward Spiral was his magnum opus, and now the rest of his work is on a downward spiral.

I have The Slip but I have yet to listen to it. I'll wait for the house to be empty so I can listen to it on full blast.

Credit where it's due, Charlie Clouser and Chris Vrenna leaving marked the point where nin stopped being good (phm-the fragile). It's easy to believe Reznor is solely responsible for the music bc you're told over and over besides the live band he is the band. If you actually read the notes and listen to the music over the years it's obvious what happened to their sound.

That, and I think Trent's decision to depart from the tried-and-true definitive NIN style was part of the motivation for them. Still, I don't blame him - I know I've been motivated to do new things lately with my own music. The progression of the second movement of Tempted displays my own departure from casual orchestral to more avant garde works.
