West Coast Players?

Are there any west coast players around here? I've found that most of the PuFfers are either east coast or UK. Whenever I join in on their games my ping is usually 200-300 ms, which is pretty bad for cable

It's not exactly the sub-100 that I'm used to. So, if there are any west coast players, start hangin' out in #planetunreal!

R1ft, ya I know what you mean about the ping hit... but you know, I'd much rather play against PuFfers and take a small ping hit (not a big diff from 90-200 I feel) or even a biggish one, than play with a nil ping and a buncha jack-holes, you know?

i have a CTF server located in vancouver. it is on a T1 which is shared by my company (this can be a problem when someone decides that they need to download something unreasonably large for busniess purposes, but luckily that is fairly infrequent)

if anyone wants to abuse it for their own purposes, they are more than welcome to .. it does not currently have the bonus pack, but i will install it as soon as the people i usually play with get it on their clients !!

this is probably mostly of appeal to people in western canada or washington state because the internet is generally slow from here to anywhere eastward. oregon and further south may be okay as well. best times are probably late evening until morning because you can be fairly sure that no one is working here during those times.

also, if anyone has any suggestions to make it better, i am always listening.
