Beautiful... I would like to know how you made the sand dust effect. I suck at Terrains.

I tried to get my head around this PS3 cooking and it
spat out a file after only 23 seconds. So if some kind
person with a PS3 could let me know if it works?:D

It's a visually simple map, I don't think I saw any static meshes, but I like the layout. I might be too big for UT3, however, it seems better suited for UT04.

Are trees not static meshes anymore? /part joke, part real question just in case they aren't classed as that in UE3 lol

There doesn't seem to be many elements in the level that makes it really interesting to navigate around. The whole layout seems to use a lot of flat floor design, even though you added some jumppads I think it could use more variation.
For example.

for the question mark, these mesh doesn't seem to use much there. (were they supposed to?)
Anyway, a lot of people will like what you just did. I still think the layout is really simple. Thinking a good layout isn't easy, but you did very good for a first level. Keep it up.

The canopies in the central tower are also jump pads
jump onto the canvas and it bends and flips you up.

I would suggest naming the map something less generic, and more fitting towards the theme of the map. Not to mention there might be a little confusion from some users. There was a DOM-Deserted released for UC1, and I also did a remake of it for UT2004, and it's also planned for UT3DOM as a contribution to RoninMasta.
To that end, you don't wanna confuse anyone, and honestly "Deserted" is a pretty uneventful name. The only reason I'd ever use it, is that DOM-Deserted for UT2004 was a UC1 remake.
Try thinking of what the building "is" and was originally used for other than a UT arena. Mayeb it's an old Church, or bath-house or somethin.
Like maybe DM-Imhoteps Tomb....or something along those lines. It fits more as well. Deserted indicates something very barren, and empty, and lifeless.
Here is a desktop I made of the original Deserted for UT2004:

Nice map. Only thing which bugged me abit about it that the lighting feels very sterile and uh un-deserty. Mebbe add some very light fog to simulate sand being swept about.

Yes, good Idea. I was looking into the particle emitters and fog volumes.
