I just wanted you guys opinion on which one would be better to buy for a moderate to heavy gamer. And basically spends 50% or a little more on the computer. Heres the 2 choices

the Logitech G7 (Cordless)
Logitech G7 (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=2464,CONTENTID=10716)

the Logitech G5 (wired)
Logitech G5 (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=2142,CONTENTID=10715)

Now mind you I have no prefernce to any of them as far as cordless or not goes. Its a tough choice for me.
btw both of these are gaming mouses. And if this helps I currently use th MX1000 cordless Logitech mouse.

I'd go for the MX518 over both of those.

The laser tech just isn't as reliable as the optical tech in the 518. I have used the MX1000, G5 and the MX518. Both the G5 and MX1000 skipped and generally caused trouble. The MX518 is standard (in terms of gaming mice), but much more reliable, imo. It also has an extra button on the side. ;)

I would never buy another cordless mouse after the MX1000. :hmm:

From G7 and G5 I'd chose only G5. Gaming mouse can't be wireless.

I also prefer wired over cordless, so my pick between these 2 would be the G5

A mouse with additional buttons on left and right side is definitaly an advantage, I`d go for one of these

I would also say the G5. But as stated, I would get a 518 over both of them.

I'd take a razer over all of them.

I love my diamondback :D

I've had 2 MX100's

Both beautiful for tracking and feel.

First one I sent back because the click pressure needed for left and right was TOO much ...

Rather than having seperate bits of plastic that press down to press the contacts, the upper shell of the MX1000 is one-peice so that the springiness of the clicking is partly due to the 'bend-back' of the one peice shell.

So I went for replacement and then everything fine.
And note .. that was not because the mouse was duff .... simply that I like extra-light clickability.

OK .. tracking brilliant ... and very fast response indeed.

Five buttons AND a siseways switching wheel ...

Logitech software give a lot of control over function ...

And there is a 'fansite' which has modified Mouseware which unlocks a lot of other choices too.

NB ... I am just writing as a happy owner ... I have had no experience of the other mice in this thread.

Why not? The G7 has fixed any and all latency issues that wireless mice once had. Go check newegg reviews, the only complaint is changing batteries.

I'd take corded over cordless personally. If you don't like the large shape of Logitech's mice, you could try the Razer (http://www.razerzone.com/) Copperhead, it uses the same laser sensor as the G Series iirc. I have a Razer Diamondback (the optical forerunner to the Copperhead), and it's a very nice mouse. It's worth a look if you're thinking of trying something new.

The G5 or MX518 are still solid choices though

I never had a problem with my G5, I use it daily. I replaced my mx510 with a G5, it's a much better mouse imo.

so who makes the MX518 anybody have a link? as far as my MX1000 is concerned, I dont like the fact of having to wait for it to charge to use it again. Mine never skipped though as far as I realized anyway. God which mouse its crazyness. I also forgot to mention I kind of have a big hand so, size really isnt that much of a factor but would be better if it was big like the MX1000.

It's Logitech that designs the MX518. And it's pretty big considering and well it's the same shape as the MX1000 so don't worry about that.

so its the G5 for Kantham eh. humm alot of people say G5 so I think I'll go along with G5. Since newegg is running a sale right now I can get it 10-20 dollars cheaper that from logitech themselves. Thanks for all the input guys you really helped me out!!! :tup:x10

Do you not put it on it's charger when you turn off your computer? I don't think he ever turns it off or leaves it...:) your right rex the only time I turn off my computer is if it is storming. I do put it in the charger but sometimes I play so hard with it I drain the battery faster that expected. Then but my dock has been acting up lately and not charging properly so that my perdicument you see.
