Luke dies, and Darth Vader is really the Pillsbury doughboy.
I think he should have done this a lot sooner. I've lost interest in star wars thanks to the crap fest that was episodes 1-3 and the butchering of SWG by SoE and LA.
Of course, I guess this does make sense seing that SW is Georges bread and butter, and he has no more to make. He now needs to milk it for everything its worth just like what Disney does when they lock movies in their 'vault' for years on end and release 'special limited editions' type deals.

So, these will be the original, unenhanced movies we (well, some of us anyway) saw in the theaters as kids? Where you can see the blocking around the TIE Fighters and everything? Cool.
I have the original trilogy on VHS, but it's the version with the cleaned-up special effects. It has the bigger, better Death Star explosion, but that's the only major change. I also have the "improved" trilogy on DVD. I always skip the Han/Greedo conversation. It just pisses me off too much.

Fiver says you'll get this until the day Lucas dies. A "new" or "original" box set of SW released every few years to ride the nostalgia thing, and to sucker the hardcore fans again.
The horse has been flogged across three whole lifetimes of birth and death already.

I'm holding out until all 6 movies are released in a collectors set, with each movie being in it's original form.

Next year is the 30th anniversary. A tenner (I'll see your fiver, Sel ;)) says there will be a box set with all of the movies in both their original and Special Edition forms.
i'll just watch them on good ole VHS!

Don't forget the potential for Blueray and HD-DVD-formats where they can start the whole circus all over again ... *kching*

I have 3 VCRs. One RCA I baby because it still makes perfect copies of Macrovision-protected tapes and DVDs. Instead of trying to get around the protection, it just copies the protection right onto the new tape. Plus, I've gotta tape my shows with something.
I'm waiting until Lucas comes out with Eps 1, 2, and 3 redone how he originally wanted them made, but was limited by technology.
