I won't be getting a 360, so I have no chance of playing this game unless it comes to PC. However, on the official site it says it's exclusively for the 360, yet many others claim it's for PC as well. Could someone post a link to the report that it will also be for PC?

Thanks in advance. :)

There is no official word from EPIC yet. But since Microsoft is so close to the PC world, you can put it in the maybe column.

So far, rumor has it, that if the console version does really well, then they will port it to PC. Which may not be a bad thing when it comes from the 360. Seeing has how it's basiclly a PC anyways.

But again, apparently it's ONLY IF the console version does well.

It'll end up like Halo - out on PC 2 years later... if it comes out that is.

At th emoment GoW is one of the 'Killer App' games for the 360, so don't expectMS to let go of the rights it's bought so easily.

I was going to post that, but you beat me to it.

M$ need to give people a reason to move to Vista ... because there isn't one right now.

Reason being all future development/programs/games will be Vista only, so you'll either upgrade or be left behind.

Indeed, Nemephosis. Everyone will have to shortly after release, mainly because M$ will stop support for XP to push everyone to Vista. M$ has the majority of home pc users by the balls, and that's quite a few people. :/

Good thing I'll be able to get Vista for free legally through my school. ;)

That's where I wondered where the source came from. They didn't post an article or anything, so I don't consider that as confirmation.

You think? I still know people on Windows 95.

The way Vista keeps being pushed back I doubt anyone will have a compelling reason to upgrade much before 2008. And Vista probably won't be worth using until at least the second service pack. So maybe 2009/2010.

That ought to give a Linux distribution or Apple enough time to get their act together to give M$ a run for their money.

The only good thing Vista has is DirectX 10, in a couple of years, when the majority of games actually use it, it will be worth getting.

Bill Gates is Satan's cousin!Erm... sure.

Sure... ... sure...

Who should be the first one to tell him that Bill Gates wasn't CEO for like -- a few years now? Its Steve Balmer, sir Chairchucksalot, who's doing the flappy decisions. Gates is just a PR dude basically now... he's technically CTO of the software decision... and he does sit in a lot of the Xbox360 meetings, but he really doesn't mean much anymore. More of a figurehead now.

I'll think for sure gow will definitely come to pc eventually. Cliffy and the epic gang will just love for their creation to be released for the PC. Epic has a large PC customer base and know it would be a missed oppurtunity not to give gow a pc release. There's money and there's love to be made. You can also bet gow will probably have some extra content or something for a pc release. If you look at Fable as an example.

Gears of war features a unique new style of gameplay with the way you aim and shoot (2nd person). The PC is the perfect place to go with that after microsoft has made whatever profit limit it has for gow before it's allowed a pc release, lol. FPS fans would just love to experience gow on the PC. The game is crying out to be played with a keyboard and mouse to kick some locust horde butt. Epic are probably tinkering with how a PC version would work out already. They can't talk about PC in public because it's all about XBOX360 and that's the only platform they are allowed to talk about.

I hope it does make it also, with multiplayer. There has yet to be a KillSwitch type game for PC with multiplayer. I would love something similar to CS but with the ability to take cover against walls and shoot around corners. Ive seen a few MODs that tried, but the camera isnt ever right, nor the *stickiness* for the walls. Rogue trooper is another one, and recent. But It was a little too over the top for me.

yeah in a few years. same with xp when it came out. how long have i and my friends been using 98 even though xp was out! ^^

btw - what about that stuff like 'vista will only run ms office and nothing else'? read that somewhere

Thing is, even if it does come to the PC you're gonna need a monster machine to run it. I wouldn't like to speculate what the minimum requirements would be but to see it as it was meant to be seen you are talking some very serious hardware

Mr. UglyPants
15th May 2006, 09:06 PM
The requirements would be the same as UT2007!

Cliffy b and mark rein both confirmed this... Theres no reason to think it wont come to pc.. Unless they say "it's not coming to pc", which they haven't.

The game is looking badass. I'm hoping this game will go to the PC because I don't think i'll be picking up an Xbox 360 anytime soon. Besides, if the game does well, which it should then I'd expect to see the game out for the PC within months after the consoles release.
