View Full Version : Newegg screwed up my order, suggestions?

I'm building a new PC with parts ordered from Newegg. However, a slight dilemma has revealed itself. For my case, I had ordered an IstarUSA Nitro Ax S-10000 full tower atx case. Price:$118.00. Instead, they seem to have shipped me an IstarUSA S-Storm S-10000bl dual xeon server tower. Price:$359.99

So I have two questions:

1.) Would a standard ATX mobo for a personal PC even fit in this monster of a case?

and

2.) Should I keep the one they sent me, or attempt to have them switch it with the one I ordered?

I don't see why it wouldn't fit. Where you charged the extra cost for the different case?

I myself would send it back, but that is just because I'd do that sort of thing. Give em' a buzz and see what they say about it.

What Thrash said.

Online retailers have erroneously shipped me expensive items before, and their replies vary between "Send it back, we'll pay for the shipping and send you the right item this time" and "Keep it, we'll also re-send the item you actually ordered".

*update*

Upon close inspection, the owner's manual calls it a Nitro AX, with S-Storm Series specifications. Now I don't know what model it is.... bleh.

But you know that is not the one you ordered, right? I'd retrieve it and get another

I think you have it backwards, the IstarUSA Nitro Ax S-10000 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811165010) case price is $359 and the IstarUSA S-Storm S-10000bl (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811165013) price is $123.50. If I was you I wouldn't call and save yourself some time, unless you really want teh $359 case.

Ahh, but deadpool, you posted the prices for the Nitro Ax s-10000s with redundant power supply, whereas I ordered the Nitro Ax S-10000b. Also, I thought they shipped me the s-storm 10000bl server tower(the one you found was the atx tower version). I actually think that they shipped me the correct product now, after more consultation of the owner's manual. I think they need a more distinct naming system however :p.

Yeah, you're probably right. The engrish in those manuals is usually pretty broken too, so I'm not surprise. :D

Personally, I would contact them about the matter, and go on from there.

But I voted for the send back option in the poll though.

Call them. A few things could happen:

1) They apologize and request you send it back. You receive a store credit for their mistake.
2) They apologize and request you send it back.
3) They apologize, ship out the requested item, and let you keep the case.
