yeah i saw them in concert in London, was dope :D
the pyrotechnics espcially, had flames coming out of the stage all the time and a flamethrower attached to one of the band members heads which spat fire. Had a wicked time, musics alright too.

I loved Rammstein's earlier stuff (up to and including Mutter), but their latest stuff doesn't doesn't grab me in the slightest :(
Their collaboration with Sharleen Spitiri goes down as one of the weirdest ideas I've ever heard...

"Du Has(s)t" is definitely a fun song, but I like "Feuer Frei", "Adios", "Zerstören" and "Los" more.

Rammstein is simply great, if you hear a new song from them (or a song you don`t know) the first thing you ask is "Is that Rammstein?" The style of guitar is pretty unique IMO.
I also like their flame shows and the fact he sings the words all clear and understandable. Many groups sing with a slang where you can`t clearly understand all words, allthough the "r" are a little bit overpronounced ;)

hey fluid, since you like die ärzte, have you checked out farin urlaub's solo projects and bela b's new solo single(which's the prequel to a probably awesome solo album)?
I can recommend them wholeheartedly.

dont judge them by "you hate"
Are you refering to Du Hast there? It would be quite ironic for to have got You Have wrong after laughing at people not knowing what songs mean...
It's the only song of theirs I've ever heard, but I was surprised I understood the German (it being not a good subject at school for me) and so I did like it. Wouldn't find its way onto a playlist of mine though.

du hast means you have. Hate is haß as I remember, so you hate would be du haßt.
Du hast mich gefragt means 'you have asked me' (can't remember what the whole line was) If it meant hate, it would translate as 'you hate me asked.
Unless you just mixed them up in the reply (which it sorta looks like you did).

Neither of you seem to understand the song.
It's both 'You have' and 'You Hate' ... that's what makes the song so difficult to translate correctly.

Yeah.It´s a play on words.:)
I´m a big Rammstein fan...I don´t really like the newest album that much...it´s okay but the first two albums "Herzeleid" and "Sehnsucht" are way better if you ask me.

I'm not German, but I know the title is You Hate, not You Have. :)
I looked it up and a play on the two verbs seems to be most likely, however, past the du hast mich (which could conceivably be you hate me) the only verb that can fit is haben because you have asked me cannot change to you hate asked me (or you hate me asked etc).
Also, everytime I've found it listed it is as DU HAST, which means 'you have' else it would be DU HASST (for you hate).

Funny Topic.
Actually the only german metal band you should listen to is Kreator(Extreme Aggressions).
They dont sing in german - but Mille rules!!!:D
I know Rammstein from the time before they became famous.
I was never into their music but i like "Sonne" somehow.
One other band is Oomph!(Das weisse Licht)- they sing in german and the music is quite
nice i think.
Some other german bands i like are:
DieÄrzte(Westerland,Die fette Elke),Farin Urlaub(Porzellan),Die toten Hosen(Wünsch Dir was),WIZO(Das Goldene Stück Scheisse) ..they all came from a Punk background.
Cant think of more right now..

"ich will" means "I want"
You are right in some way, though "Ich will Kuchen" (I want cookies) is uncorrect. That would be "Ich möchte Kuchen" (Can I have cookies) or "Ich will Kuchen habe" (I want cookies). In fact you can't really translate "Ich will Kuchen" since the sentense is wrong.
But I don't want to get anymore into this, since I expect you to have a far larger knowledge about this than I do

Ironically enough, it's incorrect :p.
As far as I'm aware, will is still want, just in German you use Ich mochte (with umlaut) 'i would like' rather than want as you wrote it (either way, correcting someone from Germany is rarely gonna come off ;)).
Where you got 'can I have cookies', though, is beyond me.

if you're speaking of "ich will": no.
"ich will" means I want, nothing more
I will is "ich werde" in german and "ich kenne meinen eigenen verstand" doesn't make any sense
You are right in some way, though "Ich will Kuchen" (I want cookies) is uncorrect. That would be "Ich möchte Kuchen" (Can I have cookies) or "Ich will Kuchen habe" (I want cookies). In fact you can't really translate "Ich will Kuchen" since the sentense is wrong.
oh jeez...
first of all "kuchen" is cake, not cookies
ich will kuchen = I want cake, the sentense is not wrong
ich möchte kuchen is not can I have cookies(can I have cookies is a question, in german it would be "kann ich kekse haben?"), it's just a politer way of saying "I want cake"
btw beatsteaks, slut, blackmail > oomph! and all that crap

But i like the guitar parts and the drums are quite well.
gott ist ein popstar? bwahahahaaaaaa
no.
Well this is a really embarrassing title ...lol - i havent heard that song...actually
i just know 3 songs and those are fine...
BTW
Kuchen = cake
Kekse = cookies
Ich will = I want
Ich möchte = i would like to
If you say "Ich will Kuchen" - that would be rude.(Like "Give me the Cake!")
If you say "Ich möchte Kuchen" - thats the nice way.(Like "May i have a piece of cake?")
