Yeah, so being a fan of Anthrax and fast, hard, thrashy music in general, I decided to pick this CD up today. They're called S.O.D. which is short for Stormtroopers Of Death. It was basically a side project of Scott Ian from Anthrax in '85. Charlie Benante (drums) and Dan Lilker (bass) of Anthrax also joined, and the vocalist was some guy who I can't remember. But yeah it's full of tongue-in-cheek politically incorrect lyrics, and just really funny songs. It kicks your ass so hard because it just thrashes so fast. The CD is called Speak English Or Die! and it's just great. They have this song called Ballad of Jimmy Hendrix in which they play the intro to Purple Haze and then just stop and scream "YOU'RE DEAD!" Other subjects contain the DC hardcore scene (Minor Threat and the like), not having any milk for your cereal, periods, etc...

It's just so goddamn funny how angrily the guy yells the lyrics, and how fast and asskicking the rhythm section is. Hella good stuff! You just gotta HEAR it to realize how funny this is, but here's a sample anyway.

Best Thrash band ever!!! I got there new Dvd it pwns. To bad they were stolen by Anthrax. I seem to be the only one who knows about them at my school. Dan Lilker is a god at bass. Speak English or Die=teh classic. Billy is the singer.

I think MOD went a little too far. I dunno, it's just kind of hard to follow up on SOD (they're both the same singer, right?) and some of it's funny, but some of it is ehhh.
