Perhaps if this gains enough steam we might see a Firefly return. I hope to god we do, theres no good sci-fi available to me anymore... :(

I think you're out of luck. I'm sure I read somewhere that the guy who created it has actually said he's not doing another series, although they may make more movies or, something.

Listen. I'm not saying FireFly is a bad show. I'm saying that it had its chances and in the end, not enough people were interested in the show. Let it go. Be happy with the thought that there might atleast be another movie.
Family Guy came back because of strong DVD sales AND strong ratings when it was moved to Adult Swim. I seem to recall it breaking a million viewers, which isn't shabby for late-night reruns.

A nice idea, but after the way Serenity ended a second season of Firefly simply wouldn't be Firefly.

Book/Wash dead, River lucid again, Alliance crumbling.

Then there's the fact that there's no way a campaign ON THE INTERNET will raise nearly enough money to finance a single episode of a show like Firefly, let alone a whole season.

No, it's Fox's fault. They cancell EVERTHING except COPS and "Most Dangerous Wild cop car chases of the eastern US with cool crashes you've ever seen 5" shows. Which are all just reruns anyways. I think fox has the mentality that "if not 100 million people are watching it", then it's no good.

Actually, people gathered enough money for 2 last episodes of Angel (spin off of Buffy)

These American networks really weird me out. They seem to buy the copyrights to the shows meaning if they axe them, the program makers can't do jack **** about it because the network technically owns the show so they can't move to another channel... That's just wrong.

We can pretend that didnt happen.
Why the hell did they have to kill of Book? They could have went so many awesome places with him!
Yeah, I think its best we pretend it didnt happen.

Oh well, as long as a new star trek series is created I will be happy. Please oh please revive the series you damned writers!

Yea, if not for the fans of the actual show, for those of us who like seeing Jo in tight uniforms.

They did it was called enterprise and it was awful.

I'm happy with just my Battlestar Galatica.

The enterprise was a failure for many reasons, but that shouldn't mean the series is dead. At least I sure hope it isn't.

I thought I heard paramount was going to kill off the series for good and not doing anymore shows. I hope so. I know there wont be a star trek movie for a very long time if ever.

It may have been FOX's fault initially, but the fact that it came back and still didn't generate enough of anything pretty much settles it.

I don't really even care about firefly. I just need to feed the urge for sci-fi, and I've seen all the star trek reruns...

It might have helped if they ran it at times people were / are awake ...

Besides ... the mentality (of pretty much any channel) is more like "if it isn't as cheap as possible then it will be killed ...". SF-shows are many things, but cheap is pretty much what they won't be.

Oh well .. at least we've got Hyperdrive ... (http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/hyperdrive/) by the BBC.

I was talking about the movie as well, which did not do very well. In addition, I remember the Sci Fi channel running FireFly at very accessible hours. It probably should have been on that channel to begin with. I don't think US network television is really the best place for a Sci-Fi series. Sci-Fi should stick to cable networks.

I've heard that's ****e...

I loved Serenity and still want to see the show, but Farscape is the only show of this type that has been turned around into something by the fans and it already had alot of momentum behind it.

yeah you are right, i did watch the movie first, then i watched the episodes, how they are going to bring the show back after that is beyond me, i heard they may may another movie, a sequel, but it may be made for TV or straight to DVD

the only thing that pisses me off we will never find out about book's past cause he wasn't always a damn preacher

It's definitely no 'Red Dwarf' or 'Dr. Who', but it'll do for the moment.

I think the key difference between Serenity and Farscape (and other SF-shows) is that the culture/background is so 'alien' that it prevents people from enjoying it as much as it could have.
