I am the ultimate nub!
Do I have to do anything other than remove and replace the card when switching between two Geforce cards? (4600 and 6600)

I'd guess not, but I'm the kind of person who would uninstall my drivers anyway. Just to be sure.

Yes, uninstall drivers before you install the new card.

Yes, uninstall drivers before you install the new card.
That's just a precaution, when I switched out cards all I did was switch them out and install the new drivers after my computer booted up. Worked perfectly (I was going from a 5200fx to a 6600gt)
It would probably be better to go ahead and remove your old ones though, just to prevent any conflicts.

You should be ok without uninstalling the drivers since they are both GeForce cards. But it is best to do so just in case.
shouldn't this be in hardware?

Oops! I never really browse outside of OT anymore. Forgot that there was a section specifically for this. Thanks for the help though.

Assuming you didn't screw up and get a PCIe card, you'll be fine.

There may be dedicated plug on the 6600 for more POWAR, that your 4200 didn't have, but essentially, the way it comes out is the way the new one goes in.

Geforce cards use the exact same drivers. Unless you use custom drivers from someone else, you shouldn't need to uninstall your drivers. I didn't need to when I replaced a Geforce 2 with a Geforce 6. And be sure to listen to Black_Plague, he is absolutely right about the extra dedicated power cord you will need.
