Does anyone use a music maker thing? Like Ejay. I'm looking for a good music maker program that I can make some songs with. I was looking at Techno Ejay, and the demo that I downloaded was pretty easy to use. Any opinions or advice on what I should try?

I have the first Techno Ejay and Ejay special edition which is basically a crippled Dance Ejay, Rave Ejay, and Hip Hop Ejay. I tried the latest Techno Ejay and it was WAAAAAY more complicated to use.
Here is a song I made six years ago on Ejay SE!

I use Propellerhead Reason on a recommendation from Huggybear. A damn good one, too, if I may say so m'self...

I use various programs for my music, but i have to say that for tracking and general mixing, nothing is better than Acid Pro (used to be Sonic Foundry now bought by Sony)
For generating the loops, fruity isnt bad, buzz or reaktor is better but a bit more advanced

I use Cooledit for recording and editing, Fruity Loops 4 for making ambient and orchestral music, and Sibelius for making scores :)

I use a collection of programs.
For some synth and beats stuff, I use Propellerhead's Rebirth (which is now free). Right now I'm using Fruityloops CE and Cubasis VST CE (came with my soundcard). Back when I used pirated software I would use Reason - which is probably one of the best music production programs out there for general work. I used it to do scores for 2 theatre productions, as well all the beginning of the Social Engine/Social Engineer era works.
I would strongly advise that you not pirate it, though - Reason is an incredible program, and well worth the price. It was on of the first things I plan to purchase after I graduate from college. The latest version can be used by itself for the entire production process (minus recording instruments) - the mastering suite is great.
*edit* I also use Cooledit and Audacity for recording/mastering. I usually use Cooledit (Now adobe audition), but I used Audacity to record and master a series of monologues for a production here at my college, and the quality was fairly respectable.

Whoa, Rebirth is free now?
I'll have to get me some of that action. That's a very good program.
