What's new and awesome? High-def movie trailers.

More and more movie trailers are being pumped out in the p's (480, 720 and 1080, which, if you don't know, is the vertical resolution), which make the trailers look awesome (if you have teh rig for it (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/guide/hd/recommendations.html)). hi def is dope, but i don't understand why the pc requirements seem steaper then the OSX ones, is the h.264 codec jsut better optimized for the ppc and what is going to happen when intel finally hit mac

Soon enough all gfx cards will have a dedicated decoder for h.264

This is impressive. The details of those are higher than what I've ever seen on PC or in the cinemas for that matter.

Hell my resolution can only accommodate the 720dpi :p

I tried to watch the 1080 X3 trailer (http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/x3/), and it sent my computer into a fit. 480 worked, though, and is extremely good quality for a downloadable trailer.

Xbox live marketplace has the hi-def trailers for download. So far I think Aeon Flux and Xmen 3 are available. The X-Men trailer was pretty nice on a pc monitor, but it's even better in hd on a big screen.

I downloaded the 1080 X3 trailer. I like videos that are larger than my current resolution. :cool:
