It is made in South Korea. Aren't businesses there funded by the governament? So no matter how crappy they are they always end up staying in business.

^ Nah, it's definitely worse than BF2 judging from the screenshots. BF2 has some damn good graphics at times. For example the sun shining off the surface of the jets in that Operation Clean Sweep map is quite realistic. Very good use of shaders there.

Also there are very few bugs, and lag is barely an issue.

Maybe they just want to make "A good game that you would actualy get at the store for 50$ but instead it is free" to just become popular and see how many downloads and players they could get. Well, sure thing they will, but there is no money founded in this game, maybe lots of drama kids and hacks out there. And what about the servers if there is no AI?

There are great deal of servers, almost all of them full or almost full.



You don't need a good computer to run it, one of my computers has an Intel Integrated, and it ones it smoothly.

It runs great, and you can scale the graphics way down if you need to. Its obvioulsy not a finished game, however it is fun and when they add more features it should just get better. I can't play BF2 on my computer, so this is a good substitute.

Ya, the graphics aren't as good as BF2's. I think BF2 has bump maps, and I don't see any on the screenshots there. It looks more like America's Army, but that's not really a bad thing. Nice find, Jackal.

This game looks like it was made using a weird version/clone of the Unreal engine :con:
Just have a look at the directrories structure, the Engine.ini, the entities in the maps (in plain text files).
They are using raw file formats (DDS, TGA, ASE, text files) instead of packages though.

Also, how can I remap the keys. And the game is stuck in 60Hz, there's no way I can play that :p

that game may have bikes, but bf2 has ATV's and jet skies.....and crappy net code....and lots of bugs....and, well you get the idea.

And costs money... and won't run on my computer.... well War Rock is fun. I'm at level 2! Even though it means nothing because it hasn't been implemented yet.

WOW that game is fun. The graphics are OK. There is no learning curve, and there aren't any uber-elite people yet. At first I thought "oh God" when I saw that the medic was female with a half shirt and low-cut V-neck, but now I like it. Medics are a lot easier to recignize in War Rock than they are in other games where they just have a cross on their helmet. Realism schmealism. The vehicles are also really cool. The only complaints I have (and they're minor) are:

Medic chicks have guy voices
No voice chat or voice commands
Ragdolls are pretty terrible
Can't switch teams
Spelling/grammatical errors

I like how you yell "WOO HOO" when you spawn and he pulls out his bare fists as his melee weapon. Because then you're like, "OK, they aren't even trying to make it realistic," (*cough* CS) so just take it for what it is.

Yes, the game does have some flaws. There apparently will be an update coming soon with better graphics, more maps, and more vehicles. It is obviously not a realistic shooter, but it is fun. And thats what counts.

I also enjoy the woohoo, but sometimes when you spawn the guy says "Tiger Claw!". Thats pretty funny.

I've become rather addicted to this. I'm not gonna go on a long winded post about how fun it is, but let's just that it runs great, feels very solid, does not require an assload of RAM like BF2, seems to be optimized very nicely, has amazing graphics for a 180 meg download, and the net code seems terrific.
