Plane skids off runway into a vehicle intersection and kills a child in a car. (http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/12/08/chicago.airplane/index.html)

Guess the best thing to say about this is that this is probably one of the few times (if not the first) this has ever happened. Of course, it's the second new thing (http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/12/08/airplane.gunshot/index.html) in as many days in American air travel.

Snow isn't something new to the northern sections of the US but people behave like it's not to be feared in certain circumstances. Um, snowstorm...good time to be a little cautious.

Very tragic =/
Even if it's but one dead person, it's one too many.
Especially if said person is but five years old..

Driving in the snow is awesome, as long as you don't get into car accidents. I almost got into one last night, had to hit the brakes fast because a train was stopped at a railroad crossing, lost control, and luckily stopped on a side road.

Driving in the snow gives you quasi-license to pull off movie stunts. Nothing is more awesome than the feeling of pulling a power slide of sorts. :D

driving in the snow is fun as hell... hittin the hand brand and doing a 180/360... onto someones front lawn nearly missing their mailbox :D

I laughed about the plane skidding off the runway... sucks that a kid died though.

I get tired of people always having to find someone to blame in these situations. They can never accept the fact that it might have actually been an accident.

Nooooooo we have to have a scapegoat.

Blame gives them a channel for their anger at this tragedy.

More like a channel to suck money out of with lawsuits.

don't you know?
Paying money and living life in prison rights wrongs.
(or, reverses unfortunate accidents)

duh.
