Quake3 vs UT2003

I had a recent resurge in dm and bombing run with UT2003, I don't know why but with my arm injury I really really converted to the keyboard setup using wasd and shooting with the mouse, beforehand I was a keyboarder old school shooter, amazing how my dm frags went up and raised the bot skill level, but in br I did not do as well and had to resort to run run wiht keyboard layout.

I fired up Q3 also and not to start a flame war or such, but I like UT so much better it seems so more real and pretty to me, the Q3 engine is so awesome but I really enjoyed UT2003 much better and I think I will continue with the Epic dm shooters, I surely will get UT2004 soon - but not really leaning towards Q4 anymore, plus no money for upgrades anyway.

Both are different in their own leagues. Q3A is fully balanced for fair competitive play, ut2003/4 is HAHA NEXT GENERATION PRESENTATION PRETTY GRAPHICS REDUNDANT ALT FIRE RAG DOLL YEAH who cars about balance YEAH KARMA WOOT HAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHA FINALLY WE GOT STATIC MESHES TOO cube map water lol

I remember the war between the Q3 and UT-Communitys.:lol:

I don´t think Q3 is a bad game , but I don´t like the animations .
In UT the bots seem to be more real.And you get more themes in UT than the "gothic"-theme in most of the Q3-Maps.
And you get more than only DM/TDM and CTF .
I really like Assault , another reason for you to buy UT2004 Frosty :D .

I´m a little bit dissapointed with Q4.The Singleplayer was fun , but no Bots in Multiplayer isn´t fun .I finished the Singleplayer and uninstalled the game immediatly.I don´t play online , so it´s really useless.

MaxX - I enjoy it better too, SaD said it better than myself, the bots in Q3 feel cartoonish like that other game years ago, uh not serious sam but uh, Duke Nukem, yes, and UT bots so more real fun, plus I use that superbots mutator and lower the skill a notch, the UT2004 bots have nice intelligence also, I still have the demo patch.

I really am going to buy UT2004, I am just so darn lazy anymore it is incredible. Will try and buy it before 2006. I gave away my UT2003 discs to a Co-Worker and he is loving it on his new 3.0 intel system, he is addicted to dm.

I never could get into assualt much, but BR was a real thrill for me and team dm fun also.

I still have UT2k3 installed, and believe it or not, they still have this old BR GibGames.com server (located in San Jose). Active as hell, always old skool/pro's drop by for good old games(by pro's I mean... pro's), and almost everyone has a +150 and still kicking major ass. Pretty much the only reason 2k3 is still on my HD.
Been so long I haven't been there, but man I miss it.

Didn 't like UT2003 much, the Redeemer was too, well...crap compared to UT99. It was unresponsive in Alt fire, and going way too fast to even begin to control. Maybe it was the lack of big outside arenas like ONS-Dawn...

Anyway, UT2004 has been brilliant, from the first frag. And they rebalanced the Redeemer, so you can fly it. :rockon:

Top notch Mod has got to go to headhunters for Q3, sheesh I still play it off n on. You basically gib a bot, his head rolls, you pick it up, deliver it to an altar and score. the more heads at once the higher the score. Scores based on the banucci math state of 1 3 5 8 13 21 34 55. Thus every adtl head is added back to the previous number and it builds and builds. The tension is awesome. Basic grandfather to the UT greed mutator. Also classic UT mutator great for UT2003.

You can fly the Deem around in 2k3 as well. There's not such a big diffrence between 2k3's and 2k4's... 2k3's is easier to fly around IMO - less details around the crosshair.

UT4ever! The maps and gameplay were much better than in UT2kx, thx to all maniacs making that good remakes and mods :tup:

Maybe it's because most of the maps with it where indoors, don't really like indoors maps.

UT2003 is a lot more fun than UT2004 sometimes, especially when everyones going all pro in the latter...
