I have quick question for those of you (i know at least of one person ;) ) who are in japan right now : how much does a 1Gb usb mp3 player cost there ?
The deal is that i know someone who is currently in japan, and i could ask him to bring me one of those. The only thing is that it's not someone i can talk to directly (he's a friend of a friend), so i can't really trust him on how good a deal it would be. I have no way to estimate how much i could spare from buying one such appliance in japan, knowing that here in france the cheaper ones are about 100 euros. Any help greatly appreciated.

I had the same "problem" with the US and found lot of best-prize searchining machines on the web... might exist for Japan as well and some might offer english....

I don't think you're gonna save much.
The cheapest 1GB flash player is around 80 euros in Japan, and that's without shipping.

Just get a shuffle 1 Gb. It's the same price everywhere. No trouble. But if you are bright, you'll get an university/college student to buy it for you... apple even has educational prices on ipods :P

Try looking for online electronics stores. Hold on a sec, lets see if I can find any..

Use bablefish to navigate (or study Japanese for a few thousand years)..

I shouldnt think the prices would be too differnet, but you may find a better selection available in Japan.

Thanks for the link snake. Instead of studying japanese, i decided to use babelfish, which makes webpages load for a thousand years...
I actually found out that the kind of device i'm looking for is basically the same price as in france.
