I got some pictures for you. Shown are the EMP-Grenade and the Thermite-Grenade - both part of the soon avaiable version 1.1

The EMP-Grenade causes much damage against turrets and disrupts em for some seconds. They can accumulate a very strong pulse when exploding in groups.
The Thermite-Grenade is an area-denial weapon and can be used to block passages for a moment and to clear bunkers. It is very effective against infantry.

Awesome!
I hope the mines are in 1.1, even if you have to to a quick grenade explosion coding on them or something. Are they hidden or anything?
And are there vehicle concepts for when in the future vehicles are made?

Hunz
4th Dec 2005, 10:29 AM
They will be fully implemented in 1.1. Hiding them would be exaggerated - spotting em will be difficult enough without cloaking.

Awesome, i see shrapnel!
What is spash like compared to the 'nade?
and what is the build limit?

Hunz
10th Dec 2005, 08:12 PM
150% splash, 66% damage, 33% penetration and uneffective against hard targets.
They will be given to the mechanic (1 each) instead of the standard nades.

I say the thermite nade should do serious damage to turrets like they were used in WW2.

Hunz
10th Dec 2005, 09:34 PM
EMP-nades do that already.
The thermite-nade is generally just a incendiary nade which uses some thermite/phosphor mix instead of the usual napalm (which wouldnt fit into a nade anyways). Its tactical role is clearly anti-personnel area-denial/foxhole-cleaning.

Will attackers be able to destroy mines with nades or something?

My first instinct is that it should be destroyable. But then I got to thinking that grenades are always bouncing everywhere making placing mines pretty pointless if they are destroyed in 2 seconds.

Then again you could always have them placed in cool spots (opposite of "hot spots"/"kill zones") just to slow down their advance to the next objective......hmmm......Im somewhat torn on this.

What do you all think?

Dest

Mines can be destroyed by nades or bullets, but mines can also be placed on walls or ceilings.

Ceiling mines. Genius.

Awesome! Make sure that the mines can detect guys from a good height. It would be a pain if mines could be placed high on a ceiling and yet bad guys would have no prob running under them without consequence.

A possible solution (if this is a problem) would be to leave the radius trigger the same but add a vertical line trigger projecting out of the mine through the "little red light" (orthogonal to plane upon which it rests or is attached.) This would be similar to having them laser tripped.

Kharn. :)

I´m playing this mod since it was released and i don´t understand why no one is playing it online!
This is one of the greatest mod i´ve ever played!
I hope with DA 1.1 there will be some people playing it online, because only against bots is boring after a time ;)

If you would have the community of TO:Crossfire there wouldn´t be any problems...

Kharnellius
5th Feb 2006, 11:06 AM
Yeah Im sure we will get people to play when 1.1 comes out....(though now its going to be called 1.5 because a lot has changed). I think most people are at the same point as you. They are waiting for the changes that will balance things out a bit more. and trust me they do. :)

hey crazy kenny are you that guy made a small to: crossfire site

rich_zap
5th Feb 2006, 02:07 PM
People did play it online for the first 2 weeks or so but it quickly became apparent that any engineer on the defenders who knew what they were doing could basically make the defences unbreachable, the new version will have a lot of balances and new features in the area of turrets.

Crazy-Kenny
