View Full Version : Gift regestrey argument
Me and my roommate are having a discussion about gift registry. She is getting married and her fiancé wants to register a Xbox360 as a wedding gift. Is this a**hole or is it a legitimate thing to register?

Why not? :)

Hey it is beyond the normal "gift-types", and it will be far more useful than rings, earrings, etc.

That beats the balls off of some kitchen tool or something you'd only use once.

It's traditional to get household-type gifts. Stuff that will help the newly married couple start their life together. Stuff like blenders, mixers, measuring cups/spoons, silverware, tablecloths, vibrating dildos, pots, pans, salt/pepper shakers, and various other kitchen supplies are common.

I know. But that's so quaint :)
If both of them enjoy playing videogames it will help them too

Why not just put "lots of money?" ;)

I would just give them a gift card for walmart or other places that offer gift cards, so they can get whatever they want.

I don't see the problem...the guy never gets to put anything down...so instead, they get 500 sets of silverware. **** it...get a 360. If people will spend $200 on a food processor, they can up their ante for a 360.

Or they could sell all the excess crap and buy a 360 :)

Screw gift registries. We should go back to the dowry system.

My cousin registered for a 24-pack of Dr. Pepper. Based on that, I say all bets are off in the new millenium.
I don't think its a bad idea. Where does it say you have to register things you need? Traditionally yes its housewares, But we have all been living on our own for quite a while. We already have all those house things. Or we have learned to live without them. lol
I think they should register one. As of now they are paying for the rehearsal dinner, witch is BS!

Your subtlety is applauded, sir!
