(The lyric is actually "and Germany". Sh*t.)

http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/the_producers/large.html

When I went to NYC last September (http://forums.beyondunreal.com/showthread.php?t=144631), I went to see The Producers. Though I didn't see it with Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick, it was wonderful and funny. Now Mel Brooks has completed (or is completing) his movie adaption of the play he adapted from a movie and it will be in theatres December 16 (limited release, apparently...then the 25th, then January 6). Lane and Broderick reprise their roles as Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom, a play producer and an accountant looking to rip-off the play-going populace with a movie so over-hyped and bad that it will end up making the duo lots of money. Uma Thurman unveils a pretty spot-on Ulla/Swedish-secretary voice, and Will Ferrell plays an ex-German army guy who inquires musically about your knowledge on his German band.

This will be a great movie one way or another.

I love the original and I loved the theater version. I hope this can live upto them both.

The play came through town a while back (without Broderick/Lane) but I missed it. Great movie (original). Hope this one is good, too.

A re-re-remake of The Producers, still done by Brooks? Sweet. My girlfriend will be estatic.

Great movie (original).
Damn straight. In my opinion it's still probably Brooke's best film.

How did Will Ferrel do in the movie?

He plays himself with a German accent well. Which is really all you could expect.
