Entry Level Certificates are available at three levels that are broadly aligned to level 3 and below of the National Curriculum. They are designed for students at key stage 4 and beyond who are unlikely to achieve a GCSE grade. Entry Level Certificates are graded on Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3 and are offered in a broad range of subjects.
By the sounds of it you failed (or didn't take) a PE GCSE and this entry doodad was a backup. I'm not familiar with the English system, though.

Nah sif id pick pe...its boring at our school, dance, gym, bla bla. Apparently its worth half a gcse
I just took the minimum lessons, because its the law :s
its pretty lol. the school is recognised as a sports school, but only about 25 out of 250 people in our year chose the extra lesson, to get a full gcse

Well done. Though im surprised youre allowed to specialise so young. things seem to have changed a lot in the 4 years since I did mine. You've done pretty much all sciences, with the exception of a dubious gcse in RE.
Is it common now to do absolutely no arts or humanities. or a language?

Exams in this country really do suck. I did actually do a little work for GCSEs but still not much, and ended up with pretty good results. I mean I got an A in German and I suck and always will suck at it, so something is seriously wrong there. Also I got a B in maths, and I HATE maths, I hate numbers...sometimes I even get mixed up telling the time. And yet still a B...BS. I got a C for Electronic Products ffs...I wouldn't know how to put a working circuit together that consisted of more than 4 components to save my life.
It's not surprising I leave everything to the last possible second now, I'm used to coasting quite happily through the piss poor excuse for education of our schools. Usually I don't have a problem with Labour, but over this I want to kick them in head.
