Help! My computer is screwy!

I have 2 HDs and I transferred 3 GB of files from my C drive to my F drive because my space was getting low...but after I moved the files (cut and pasted) it still says I have the same amount of disk space on drive C when I mouse over it on my computer (1.06 GB)....wtf? D: Am I not gaining any disk space even though I took stuff off the drive?

Run a Scan Disk first.
then try a disk cleanup, prehaps windows has some hidden crap on that drive.

Open My Computer
right-click on the "C:" drive
click "properties" in the dropdown menu
The disk properties windows should come up.
Click the "Tools" tab
Under "Error Checking" click "Check Now"
since this is your primary drive it will ask you to reboot your computer.
reboot your computer.

When windows boot it should come to a light blue screen informing you that it is scanning the drive. this will take 45min to a few hours. You computer should automatically repair errors that are found. If an error can't be repaired, it will tell you.

After the scan is done windows will boot.
Open My Computer
right-click on the "C:" drive
click "properties" in the dropdown menu
The disk properties windows should come up.
Click the button labled "Disk Cleanup"
The computer will take a moment to scan what files can be cleaned.
when the scan is compleete it will ask you what files do you want to clean(delete) from the computer.
I suggest the following
-Temp Internet Files
-Recycle Bin
-Temp Files
Click OK, and wait for the cleanup to finish.
